AdvanceAware was created with an independent spirit and adaptive mindset. We connect hard-working creatives with uncommon tools that help them do what they love—while mindfully avoiding burnout.
Every solution starts with a problem. Mine was no different. I was burned out. In 2014 I was an owner of a new production company, spending month after month in extended sessions, editing video. As time would have it, my 20/20 vision went blurry and I could no longer work efficiently. It got so bad that I’d spend even more time editing than I already had been! (Definitely not recommended.) Hard working friends had similar experiences and were confused at how difficult it was to work in front of a screen for long periods of time without leaving their eyes exhausted or head pounding. But, what other option was there?
After loads of research, the answer was simple. The LEDs that power computer screens are developed by lighting companies that have been able to build products with dangerous levels of blue light while ignoring the well being of consumers who don’t know any better.
I started AdvanceAware as a workaround.
By taking a holistic approach, studying scientific research not published for corporate benefit, and engaging with health conscious creatives, we’re able to provide quality, effective eyewear for people who spend the majority of their time on a computer—doing what they love.
At AdvanceAware, we believe work should be productive and exciting. It should leave you fulfilled and contribute to your well being.
We also believe everyone has the right to have healthy eyes and a strong brain.
Since children have a higher sensitivity to blue light, we’re seeking partnerships with organizations that work with young creatives and entrepreneurs so that we may extend an extra layer of protection for the developing eyes, brains, and bodies that will guide our future. Our mission is to ensure that for every pair of glasses sold, a pair is given to a young leader in need.
Other than that, we’re here to see you through better habits, better work, and a better you.
